We're off to Alabama!

Today we drove down to Columbus, GA/Phenix City, AL to visit my grandparent's graves and have lunch with my Mom & sisters. My sister, Pam, brought her sweet little grand-daughters, Phoebe & Lily, all the way from the northern Washington state coast. She met up with her husband, Daniel, at Fort Rucker and they drove over. My other sister, Emily, drove in from Valdosta. Bryan, the kids & I picked up my Mom and headed down to Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. We also enjoyed visiting the Chattahoochee Indian Heritage Center located next door to the cemetery. We were surprised to find out the lady who was greeting people at the Fort Mitchell Visitors Center actually went to high school with my Grandfather! She remembers loving to hear him play the piano and how everyone enjoyed being around Oscar Jackson. How cool is that? It was almost 70 years ago!

Have a great Labor Day-

Ginny

Intertribal Powwow

We took the kids to Fort Yargo State Park for the local Intertribal Native American Festival. They had so much fun dancing in the circle with everyone. They even threw axes!

teeny, tiny rock in my shoe

Ok- so this is my first official blog. The pics and b-day stuff were kind of a test to see if I was listening to Jaime while she explained how to create a blog to me over the phone. She's my blog guru:)

We've been home schooling for 3 weeks and so far we are LOVING it. Soccer season has started and we've got one weekend left before total soccer domination of our calendar. All three kids are playing this season. We've done 2 in sports at the same time but not all three, this should be fun! Right? :)

I've got one minor announcement to make....and when I say minor, I mean very minor-

I'm boycotting the movie theater.

I know, I know....how pointless can that announcement be but I feel I must give it it's due.

After going to the theater 2 weekends ago with this really hot guy I happen to be married to, I decided- no MOVIE is worth a $10 ticket, missing the movie for an emergency bathroom run, sitting with my knees pressed up against the seat in front of me, not being able to make out a little and being forced to either fork out $17 for 2 cokes and popcorn or go hungry. And then dealing with my disappointment when the movie is awful. Nope! Not going to do it anymore. I am saying NO. I am not a patient person but I'm standing up for myself to theater owners on this. No longer will I be a victim- I am waiting for the DVD.

My B-day

Hey guys! My birthday party was a "Queen of Hearts" party from Alice in Wonderland.
